Barbate's Fishing Harbour
The objective of the week is for us to provide enjoyable photography workshops while visiting some beautiful and interesting places. The instruction is given on-location and is tailored to each individuals needs without any formal classroom sessions. For those who are already experienced and know their way around a camera, you will be in the right place at the right time and will be given tips and advice on how to achieve the best image possible. For the less experienced, the tuition will make you better acquainted with your camera so you can start taking advantage of all these dials and buttons in the pursuit of good photography. Any aspect may crop up from composition to portraits.
We will have a certain amount of feedback every day thanks to LCD screens. However the two main feedback sessions are on the Tuesday and Saturday, the first will give us a chance to pickup on anything missed out in the field and give appropriate advice. In the second session you can show your "improved" images. In the four years operating these photography workshops, the second session has always resulted in improved images.

Composing a Photograph

Andalucia in the 21st Century!
Both Traditional SLR or digital cameras can be used. Slides can be developed within 24 hours although you'd be better bringing your own film. For digital feedback you will need a portable PC or card reader/software. A good solid tripod would help but isn't compulsory.
The locations are a fantastic mix of Andalucian culture, nature, tradition and history. During the week we visit Vejer, a typical Andalucian hilltop village. A pine forest that sits on a hundred metre cliff line that drops into the Atlantic ocean. Jerez, a large town that is home to the sherry industry. Tarifa, full of colour and kite surfers is at 8 miles the closest European Town to Africa. Finally a small seaside village Los Caños de Meca, with miles of golden sandy beaches where the famous sea battle of Trafalgar was fought in 1805.
The holidays are ideal for single people, you will meet like minded people and have many new friends by the end of the holiday. You are allocated a private bedroom within a shared apartment, unlike other holidays there is no single person supplement to pay.

Los Caños de Meca

Barbate's Pine Forest
Andalusia is the southern most region in Spain. Almost one-fifth of the region's total area has protected status with a variety of nature reserves. This makes the area one of the best and varied destinations for photography vacations.
The holiday destination is Barbate which makes an ideal base for our photography vacations. The town is full of great photo opportunities with it's working fishing port and nature park. It has grown up around a fishing industry which goes back to Roman times when fish-salting was at its peak. Barbate enjoys miles of golden sandy beaches and a 100 metre high cliff line. It also has a wonderful promenade where you can stroll for almost 2 km from the River Barbate to the Marina. The town is popular in the summer with Spanish holiday makers although it is generally untouched by foreign tourists.
