You are in horse riding holidays / full time work
We are currently looking for a full time groom who is committed to staying with us for a minimum of six months.

Our groom helps us with the smooth running of our yard and the care of our sixteen horses. The position is initially for a minimum period of 6 months, which may be extended.
To be considered for this position you must be over 25 years old and have at least two years previous experience working full time in the horse industry. You should be able to work on your own unsupervised and willing to share your knowledge with our working holiday guests. You should be a confident rider, capable of handling and riding youngsters, and have a good sound knowledge of basic horse first aid and lameness.
There will be a lot of contact with both our working holiday and riding guests, therefore applicants should have good people skills and an enthusiastic outlook on life. Applicants must have a full driving licence and be a confident driver able to drive a car with a manual gearbox.

We are based in the seaside town of Barbate where all our guests stay while on holiday with us. Your accommodation would be an apartment which you would share with our working holiday guests.
Barbate has a lovely beach and albeit a small town Barbate has plenty to offer. The town has supermarkets, clothes shops, internet cafes, bars, restaurants, etc. Barbate is 7kms from our farm where our horses live. The farm is located in the hamlet of San Ambrosio, situated at the centre of the Barbate nature reserve. The farm backs onto the nature reserve and allows immediate access to all our riding trails.
We operate a week long riding holiday, and have scheduled in weekly riding holidays all year round. However there are always some weeks when we do not have weekly guests booked on. This gives us all time to take life a bit easier, and concentrate on exercising new horses, or horses that are coming back into work after injury. The normal working day consists of 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon plus riding time when horses need to be exercised. The week is five working days and two full days off. This is normally a 30 hour week, plus any riding required during the week.

In return we provide a private bedroom within a shared apartment with our guests on a working holiday adventure. The apartment contains a fully equipped kitchen with automatic washing machine and a lounge with UK satellite TV. We provide a car to travel to the horses, the car can also be used for private use locally, and petrol for the car is provided. A mobile phone is also provided for work and calls made from this phone are again covered by ourselves. The phone cannot be used to make international calls, but it is able to receive calls from abroad. We cover all the running costs of the apartment, phone and car and provide you with a wage that is ample to cover your living costs.
